The measurement of the Pic du Midi d’Ossau for the OGE’s anniversary
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Ordre des Géomètres-Experts,.a new measurement campaign was carried out on the Pic du Midi d’Ossau in September 2016. Thanks to the surveyors of the departmental chamber of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and their partners including the TERIA Network.
For two days, teams had to measure the massif by placing targets on the ground, then geolocated, and model it in 3D using photographs taken by the drone. The combination of these two actions allowed numerical modelling to reach the summit of the peak, which reaches an altitude of 2,883.84 meters.
This event allowed EXAGONE and the TERIA Network to present and use TERIAsat for the first time. A service to increase the accuracy of satellite geo-positioning.
