How to connect in urban areas?

You want to connect in urban areas where the presence of mobile operators’ base stations is dense, it is essential to have a SIM card that works correctly.
If you have any doubts about how it works, we invite you to test your SIM card in another device. For example, you can try it in a smartphone, and try to load pages on a web browser while in a city.
If it doesn’t work, it’s obvious that there’s a problem with the SIM card that is probably “Out of Service”.

Change your SIM card to connect.

If you wish to change your SIM card, TERIA offers multi-operator cards, please consult our technical experts beforehand to confirm the status of the SIM card:

How to connect in rural/non-urban areas?

If you can connect in several areas but not in the desired one, we can think that there is a communication problem related to the local base stations of mobile phone operators that may be down, so it is easy to check this on the operators’ websites.

It is easy to check this on the operators’ websites.

If an incident is still not reported in the municipality, check that you are less than 4km from a base station, consult the ANFR website www.cartoradio.fr

If this case is recurrent, TERIA offers multi-operator cards so that it is no longer dependent on a single operator. You can also look at the reception of corrections directly by Satellites with the TERIAsat service.

How to connect to the TERIA server after a first configuration?

It is essential to have followed each configuration step and verified that it is appropriate for your situation. It is important to emphasize that there are two major considerations during a configuration:

– the configuration of the NTRIP client, the configuration that allows you to configure the server with your own identifiers
-the internet configuration, the vector that allows to join the TERIA server.

To review all the configuration procedures by brand of equipment, go to your User space.

How to access the list of mounting points?

It may be a good idea to start by configuring the Internet part of your solution, as some NTRIP clients may not allow you to manually enter the mount point but to select it from a list (the list accessible via the IP and the port you have entered). By starting by configuring the internet part you will have access to this list of mounting points.

How to change SIM cards when you change operators or switch to multi-operators?

A change of SIM card induces a change of APN (Access Point Name). It is these identifiers that you must enter in your configuration. They will allow your modem to connect to the telephone operator’s 2G/3G/4G. Three fields are filled in:

  • APN
  • APN login
  • APN password.

They are provided to you by TERIA or by the technical support of the operator you have subscribed to.

Go to your user area to consult all the configuration procedures by brand of equipment Customer Area.

How to avoid disconnections?

Disconnections are often related to the quality of the telephone network. You must therefore ensure that you have a good 2G/3G/4G/4G connection and that the base stations in your area are working properly. It is essential to also have operational equipment and that your GPS modem works properly.

Everything was working very well and...

Cleaning the SIM card and restarting your device completely will be good for it.

Which coordinate systems are taken into account for corrections?

Metropolitan France and Corsica: RGF93

Europe: ETRF

French Guiana: RGFG95

Mayotte : RGM04

Reunion: RGR92

French West Indies: RGAF09

Which altimeter conversion grids to take into account?

TERIA provides corrections in the coordinate systems mentioned in the previous section with ellipsoidal height information.
To obtain an altitude and exploit these values, you will need to configure an altimeter conversion grid in your equipment.

To do so, you can download the following raw grids for France through the IGN website:
https://geodesie.ign.fr/index.php?page=grilles

In the case of use with a surveying device, you are advised to contact your equipment supplier to retrieve the grids in the correct format.
