The ESGTrail 2026:
The 5th edition in top form!
On Thursday 26 March 2026 , the 5th edition of the ESGTrail took place , a student charity run organised in collaboration with the Topo Sans Frontières ( TSF) association and the ESGT Sports Office…
… Much more than just a fundraising event, this year’s edition carried a powerful message: sport as a vehicle for well-being, unity and commitment. With the aim of supporting future surveying missions in Sri Lanka and Guatemala, the students were keen to demonstrate that sporting achievement and solidarity go hand in hand.
Let’s take a look behind the scenes of this extraordinary day!
A COMMITTED CAMPAIGN,
STUDENTS IN ACTION!
This year, Topo Sans Frontières reached a new milestone with the 4th edition of the ESGTrail: a charity relay race aimed at raising funds to support students on surveying missions abroad, notably in Sri Lanka and Guatemala.
But beyond its charitable aspect, the ESGTrail 2026 established itself as a genuine opportunity to raise awareness of sport and well-being. The ESGT had prepared thoroughly, with a genuine desire to perform as a team: training, relay strategy, team spirit. The message was clear — to look after oneself, one’s fellow students, and the world around us.
The event attracted a strong turnout, with over 160 participants setting off on the 550-metre circuit laid out within the school grounds, determined to push their limits.
TERIA, a long-standing partner of the ESGTrail since its very first edition, was once again in attendance. True to its commitments as a mission-driven company, TERIA supports this initiative both in practical and financial terms. In addition to providing equipment for the students, TERIA donated a sum for every kilometre covered by the ESGTrail participants. (1 km covered = €3 donated by TERIA)
The figures speak for themselves. Over more than three hours of collective effort, at times in the rain, the runners took turns with impressive energy and team spirit.
The result: 1,175 laps completed,
amounting to a total of 623 kilometres covered.
A fine achievement that demonstrates remarkable commitment.
For the students, this achievement had a tangible financial impact: the fundraising total amounted to €1,869, which was donated directly to fund the TSF 2026 missions.
Because looking after oneself also involves moments of camaraderie, the runners gathered after the race for a well-deserved break, in the warm and festive atmosphere that is the hallmark of ESGT.
TOPO WITHOUT BORDERS
The history of the Topo Sans Frontières (TSF) association, which grew out of a student initiative at the École Supérieure des Géomètres Topographes (ESGT), is a testament toits commitment to the development of developing countries. In collaboration with various associations, NGOs, local training centres, governments and institutions, TSF is committed to long-term humanitarian work.
At the heart of these projects is the surveyor, whose involvement is essential. Their expertise lies in accurately measuring, modelling and demarcating the land by producing topographical plans before work begins.
TSF’s first mission took place in 2003 in Madagascar, where surveying work was carried out to improve a village’s water supply. Every year, groups of surveying students embark on this adventure, sharing their skills to contribute to the development of the host countries. Over the past 20 years, TSF has carried out missions in eleven countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, the Comoros, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Guatemala and Madagascar.
TERIA, A PURPOSE-DRIVEN COMPANY PARTNERING WITH TSF
As a purpose-driven company since 2021, TERIA does not merely act as a financial partner to the ESGTrail. Its commitment to TSF is ongoing, tangible and deep-rooted. It begins long before the race starts and continues on the ground, thousands of kilometres from Le Mans.
Beyond the sporting event, TERIA supports TSF missions on an individual basis, providing students with practical support and training them in the use of its precision equipment. The Cameroon 2025 mission is a perfect illustration of this: the students were equipped with two PYX receivers to carry out a land surveying project in the SOA region, in collaboration withISTAO.
But TERIA has decided to go one step further by installing a reference station on SOA Town Hall, in order to provide free GNSS corrections to local surveyors and topographers.
This is a significant gesture, aimed at fostering the sustainable development of local technical capabilities, and marks the start of a long and exciting journey.
The partnership with TSF is fully in line with TERIA’s raison d’être as a mission-driven company:
