a special edition for TERIA
The Order of Surveyors held its Summer Universities at the ESGT ( Ecole Supérieure des Géomètres Topographes) in Le Mans on 27, 28 and 29 June.
TERIA was present at this event dedicated to the profession and, as usual, held its general meeting. A very special edition, with some important announcements..
PYX IS HERE
TO STAY!
We no longer need to introduce PYX, this versatile GNSS receiver, a technological flagship designed and manufactured in France.
Once again this year, PYX, the versatile GNSS receiver was the star attraction on the TERIA stand.
Many of you shared your feedback from PYX users. We’d like to thank you once again for your trust and for the quality of our technical exchanges, which are always enriching.
We would also like to welcome new customers to the PYX community, which continues to grow to our great satisfaction.
For this tenth edition, the PYX
is now possible to opt for a hardened tablet with its own stand. Available as an option at €400 excluding VAT.

THE QUALIFICATION
OF THE DATA
What is an expert surveyor by law?
The chartered surveyor “carries out topographical studies and work to establish the boundaries of landed property and, in this capacity, draws up topographical plans and documents, at any scale and in any form whatsoever, concerning the definition of rights attached to landed property, such as plans for the division, sharing, sale and exchange of landed property, plans for demarcation or demarcation of landed property…”. Article 1° of the law of 7 May 1946.
The mission entrusted to the Géomètre-Expert, and the responsibility that this entails, require impeccable quality of the geographic data produced, as well as a thorough understanding of the process by which it is created.
It is essential that the measurements taken in the field by Géomètres-Experts are not only precise but also accurate.
Developments in topographic surveying technology now make it possible to announce accuracies of the order of a few centimetres under optimum conditions. However, it is important to note that disruptions to environmental, human and technical factors can alter the quality of the measurement without the surveyor necessarily being informed, even though his responsibility is engaged.
Also, in some cases, the equipment may be accurate or even very accurate, but the measurements will be incorrect..
It is against this backdrop that TERIA has undertaken an in-depth review of the qualification of geographical data and how to guarantee levels of precision and accuracy during field operations.
During two workshops, Paul Chambon, Managing Director and head of TERIA’s technical department, presented the automatic control methods that could be configured by the surveyor according to the class of accuracy required by the type of work. These advances could protect surveyors in the event of an anomaly.
To find out more, you can still take part in the workshops at the Summer Universities in Montpellier on 29 & 30 August 2023. For more information, click here.
A GENERAL MEETING
NOT SO ORDINARY
EXAGONE TERIA’s traditional Annual General Meeting was held in conjunction with the Summer Universities in Le Mans. It was an opportunity to take stock of the year and present the latest news. A number of important announcements were made at the AGM, explaining why it was such a special occasion.
After 30 years devoted to EXAGONE TERIA, Jean BERTERRECHE has decided to take his leave by officially announcing his retirement.
He will be succeeded by Patrick DI RENZO, formerly Managing Director, and Paul CHAMBON, who will take over as Managing Director.
And in this year of Olympic preparations, I’d like to quote Baron Pierre de Coubertin’s motto: “Faster, higher, stronger, together” – yes, together! Because you are our raison d’être, and I’m counting on you to support me throughout my term of office.
On the strength of the ground we have covered since 2005 and the many projects that have come to fruition within TERIA, our teams can be proud of the work they have accomplished to develop our Company and give it its current base.
I remain very confident in our ability to pursue this management policy and to take advantage of new opportunities to establish TERIA among the recognised leaders in precision geolocation.
I would like to thank our shareholders for their confidence.
We will continue to develop the TERIA project by broadening the panel of users and by continuing to work with all our staff and stakeholders to promote responsible growth and sustainable development.
The handover ended with a round of applause and a great deal of emotion. After these rich revelations, the TERIA team met up with customers and partners on its stand for a “glass of friendship”, all in a warm and friendly atmosphere to celebrate this news.
A page is turned, a new chapter is written.
